Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

What does a curb stop do and can I use it?

It's the utility-side shutoff on the buried service line, normally in a small box near the property line. It exists so the water district can isolate a house. Homeowners are expected to use the interior main instead, and operating a curb stop with the wrong tool can damage it.

How much warning does a frozen supply line give?

Often none while it's frozen, because ice plugs the leak. Pressure loss at a fixture is the usual first sign, and the water shows up on the thaw. That's why a cold snap followed by a mild afternoon produces the calls.

Is the irrigation backflow device a separate freeze risk?

Yes, and it's an expensive one. The assembly sits above ground where nothing protects it, and its internal parts crack well before the buried lines do. It has its own isolation valves, so shutting the house main doesn't cover it.

Does homeowner insurance handle a burst pipe?

It depends on the policy and on the cause, and freeze losses in particular carry conditions in many contracts. Contact your insurance provider and get the answer in writing rather than relying on a general rule.
