Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Where is the main shutoff in a house built in the last thirty years?

Usually in the basement or a mechanical room on the wall nearest the street, within a few feet of where the service enters, and often right beside the pressure regulator. It's normally a ball valve you can turn a quarter turn to close.

What does the curb stop have to do with me?

It's the boundary. From that buried valve into the house the line is yours, and from it back to the main it's the city's. Any repair conversation starts by working out which side the problem sits on.

A frost-free spigot still leaks after winter. What happened?

Almost always a split in the barrel inside the wall, caused by water that couldn't drain because something was attached to the outlet. The leak only shows when the valve is opened, which is why it appears in spring.
