Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

What is water hammer and does it damage anything?

It is the shock that travels back through a pipe when fast-moving water is stopped suddenly, usually by an appliance valve. Over time it loosens joints and stresses connections you cannot see. Arrestors or a properly set regulator generally sort it.

Does high pressure cause more problems than low pressure?

It certainly causes different ones, including running toilets, dripping faucets and premature fitting failures. Very high incoming pressure shortens the life of everything downstream. Having it measured is quick and settles the question.

Who owns the sewer lateral in a newer subdivision?

The homeowner, out to the public main, the same as anywhere else. New construction does not change that boundary. Where it does help is that the line is younger and usually plastic rather than clay tile.

Should I be worried about a slow drip under the sink?

A drip that has been there a while has usually already done something to the cabinet base. It is small work to fix and much larger work to ignore. If the shutoff under the sink will not close, that becomes part of the job too, which is common in older homes toward Berthoud.
