Around 210 nights a year fall below freezing, which is long enough that any part of the well system sitting above the frost line needs a real heat source rather than a wrap.

Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

How do I check the air charge in a pressure tank?

Cut power to the pump, drain the tank and read the air valve at the top with a tire gauge. It should sit just under the pump's cut-in pressure, and a wet valve means the bladder is done.

Why does my water sputter at the tap?

Air is getting into the system. A dropping well level, a leak on the suction side or a failed check valve all produce it, and the fix depends on which one it is.

Is a bigger pressure tank better?

Bigger tanks give longer pump cycles, which is generally easier on the pump. The limit is space and the pump's own duty rating rather than a rule of thumb.

Who is responsible for a frozen line at a well pit?

The property owner. Nothing about a private well is maintained publicly, including the pit, the wiring and the run into the house.
